you could try it but corn is one of those things that really doesnt like transplanting. I tried it last year in an attempt at early corn and they didnt grow after planted.

not sure what your weather is like but if its still on the cooler side you can try to force it to sprout by "tenting" it in clear plastic. some farmers started doing it here to get early corn and it worked well. Corn likes the hot days.

I was late last year but still do ok, and just last week I just forced mine in peat pots and one of those clear plastic trays, with enough heat they grow fast.

im no expert but I think with a stake or 2 to secure it they should climb with help. Maybe even unrolled as a flat pannel?

I just potted the seeds a couple days ago, they grew 2-3 inches....just yesterday!

In Pennsylvania 97 degrees with 50%+ humidity....is hot! We only hit tripple digits a couple days a year and thats plenty. I planted my tomatoes about 7pm last night after I noticed it was shaded at that time.
