Carrots are one of the few veggies that all of our dogs eat raw. Other than carrots it is up to eat dog's preferrence, but they don't get many homegrown carrots as they are mostly eaten in the garden. :) It would be nice to grow enough to freeze them to feed to them later in the season though...

The weeds near our raised beds are very managable this year since they get little if any water. :lol:

Very nice Carol! Lesa has it right, they seem to thirve with a fair amount of neglect. Also you might be surprised at how long they will thrive in what looks to be a very over crowded pot. DW repotted one and sperated it into 4 more pots, she had to use a drywall saw to cut it apart.

Hi Lesa, Yes the peppers and tomatoes were covered with burlap when the plants went in to protect them from wind. Later as the weather quickly shot into the 100's I put shade fabric over some of the tomatoes to protect from sun burn. I have three tomato plants that have never been covered and...

I've been wanting to post some pictures for a while, so here goes. Like the rest of the country it has been very hot and dry here even by our standards, most everything here is watered by soaker hoses and drip irrigation.

When planting shallot seed, is it best to plant in the spring or plant late summer to over winter and produce the following summer?
