Since black eyed peas and navy beans are classed together as shell beans, it seems likely. If the one can be eaten young as a podded vegetable, I imagine the other can as well. I'll try a test patch an find out. Luckily the seeds can be bought for $1.75/1000+, so it is an easy-on-the-wallet...
