Fun fact for St Patrick's Day -- Back in the 60s, Chicago city workers dumped 100 pounds of dye into the downtown Chicago river! The river stayed emerald green for an entire week now this is an annual tradition.

I love growing peas - especially snow peas or sugar snap peas! They are one of my favorite veggies to snack on while out in my garden. Another fave to snack right off the vine are cherry tomatoes!

I learned tonight while reading about veggie fun facts that there is a type of fruit called an exploding cucumber! Apparently there are two types - an edible one and a poisonous one. One shoots out dry seeds and the other shoots seeds out like a squirt gun!
