    i found seed. it originated from gill brothers and is also called Gill's sugar hubbard. we used to get seed from them and send seeds back after harvest. it's at sandhill preservation center now.

    Filling my Raised boxes?

    i used lots of perlite and coco in my beds. the compost i kept down about 10" just far enough to catch on the spade fork when i want to turn things. compost and mulch can add too much organic matter. i'd save more for top dressing later and keep the topsoil in the 3-8" or so from getting too...

    we had a farm and grew this in OR for years but the seeds have gone bad. looks like a egg shaped hubbard but not very warty.
