i found seed. it originated from gill brothers and is also called Gill's sugar hubbard. we used to get seed from them and send seeds back after harvest. it's at sandhill preservation center now.
i am from lebanon and have an admitted gardening addiction. we are very mild here about 8b. i have things like honey fig and muscadaines. always ready for new or old open pollinated veggies. will be happy to trade.
i used lots of perlite and coco in my beds. the compost i kept down about 10" just far enough to catch on the spade fork when i want to turn things. compost and mulch can add too much organic matter. i'd save more for top dressing later and keep the topsoil in the 3-8" or so from getting too...
