Ok, I feel like one of those ah,.. 'silly' people who doesn't know that potatoes grow underground, but how do you grow garbanzo beans? Do they climb like regular beans? Are they in pods? I have never seen them in a seed catalogue, but we eat a lot of them, so I would like to try growing some.

Raintree Nursery has them. I haven't bought them myself, but I've always been pleased with other things I have bought from them. I know that in order to get fruit you have to have both male and female plants.

I recently read an article about how the chemicals in the tires leach into the soil and thus into the plants grown in them. The article mentioned that the older the tires were the more of the chemicals had probably already leached out. Just an FYI. Rocky - your garlic is beautiful, I'm jealous.

I haven't make wine, but I have made balckberry mead and cordial. Both were really strong. I dilute it with club soda. I have also found that the berries are easier to juice if I freeze and then thaw them before mashing and draining. Good Luck.

I am not an expert, but I think you need two different kinds of apples to pollinate each other. I have also been told to make sure they are both early, middle or late bloomers. That is to avoid one missing the bloom time of the other. Sorry, can't help you with the horses.
