Thanks! I know I've seen it in stores that is much bigger. We're not using pesticides so it does start getting a little holey when it gets larger than 8 inches. This is my first year for growing it and we started it in a cold frame and never reset it, so it doesn't have a lot of room for growing...
How large should I let the leaves get before harvesting? I've been picking them when they're about 6-8 inches long. Should I let them get any bigger? :)

Our stupid resident groundhog has eaten our pea plants to the ground for the second time, despite having an electric fence wire surrounding them! I guess no peas for me this year. We are definitely building an enclosure around our garden before next spring!
I've been picking them off for the last few years and it does seem that they're getting less each summer. I usually knock them into a container that has soapy water, but I guess if I'm going to get chicks in a few weeks, I'll have to come up with another method so I can feed them to the chicks.
Pat, I thought your #8 post is very intelligent and well-thought out. I really liked what you had to say because I think all of us like to think we could be self-sufficient, but in reality, very few of us will be able to achieve anything close to that goal. We just have to keep learning as much...
