I've only had them in the ground anout 5 weeks, isn't this a little early to be flowering or could it be the time of yr. with the hot ground making them grow faster.

I finally got through with it. I got 9 pints out of what I had cooking. I could not find the Seville Oranges so I used little Clementines. It sure tasted good, I hope it sets up like it's suppose to. Here are a few pics of my efforts.
Me and my DH planted green beans this past Tues. Last night they were not up today they were. Alot can happen in 12 hrs. Yeah ! :watering and we got lots of rain this afternoon.
Our Squash and Zucchini, and Cukes have just about run it's course so tomorrow we are going to pull up the plants and get the ground ready for something else. Will string beans do well this time of yr.? What else might I consider in the legume family. I'm going to get the seeds today.
Jeff came home today from picking up some baby back ribs with a surprise for me, a 16 Qt. Presto Pressure Canner/Cooker. My B-Day isn't until August but he was afraid that if he waited till then they would be gone. Now I have to find something to can in it.

OK folks, most of us have chickens and a chicken manure compost pile going. When we tilled our garden we added compost and turned it under and my garden is doing great. Will I have to fertilize it again or will the compost last all season? Thanks Laura
