Thanks Thistlebloom! Grapes are part of my master plan. Probably next year. Concentrating on veggies right now. I was having a conversation with a friend over on SS forum about berries and it piqued my curiosity, so I thought I'd ask.

Strawberries I can do. Had 3 varieties last year that did very well. Lesa, if I found a berry bush growing wild on this property I'd have to call Ripley's Believe It or Not! Ain't nothin' growing wild out here but creosote bushes!

Anybody growing any kind of berries in the high desert? I am in San Bernardino county high desert zone 9a. Interested in knowing if there are any types of berries that will grow in this climate. Thanks!

What about dry ice? :idunno They also make a cold pack for shipping, can't think of what it's called off the top of my head... I'm going to do a quick search... I have food shipped from the mid-west and it stays cold in shipping... I will find a solution!! I would love to try your cheese...

Hi rebbetzin! That is my biggest issue with trying to grow anything here!! I need to find veggies that grow well with minimal water. Any suggestions?

I work it directly into the soil and yes, the chickens loves it!

I'm out here in the CA hi desert (9a) and my neighbor has rosemary growing like weeds. He trims 'em up to look like a boxwood hedge! And I know he's not watering them much.

Thanks Steve! I had looked it up before and couldn't remember if I was in zone 8 or 9. Turns out it's 9! Better fix my location info!!

I know I saw a post here somewhere about how to find your zone. Can someone please tell me where to find it?
