They do look like a lima but he called it butter bean, Maybe this is a southern term. Im not sure. and they do climb (about 6 feet)and get kinda bushy. Im sorry but that was all the info my uncle gave me. they have been growing this variety for over 40 years

Just an FYI. my hardiest and best producer is called "rabbiteye". Other ones I have that are pretty good are misty,climax and powder blue. I plant all mine together in a little patch.

Just read this thread. Im blessed with Amarillis. I even have orange ones. If you arent getting blooms just let em go dormant for a while. then first growth you are usually rewarded with a bloom

Just wanted to share I dug up and moved my whole 4x8 bed, 4 varieties and varied age from 2-6 year olds. Gave em miracle grow garden soil and they now have taken off!spears galore. whoo hoo!
