    Raccoon Grape Jelly recipe??

    Does anyone have a raccoon grape jelly recipe? I think they're kinda like possum grapes but smaller. I was hoping to make jelly out of all of these I have around my house. I'd appreciate any ideas or info anyone has on these...I haven't found very much. so far.

    Pressing Apples???

    A car jack! Well that's a good idea! I'll look into that one...I thought about some of the big river rocks I have but my husband said he'd get me if I tried to lift them....:P I've gotta get these apples pressed and soon. Thank ya'll for the ideas

    Pressing Apples???

    Anyone have any ideas on how to make a homemade apple press? I can't find any mills in the area and I can't afford a new one. I'd really like to make some Apple Cider. I'd appreciate any suggestions.

    Making Apple Butter

    Yeah they're ripe, just a green type of apple. My first batch turned out good but the second one I added to much sugar....Oh well, I have about 2 more batches to go. Thanks for the advice.:D

    Making Apple Butter

    I was blessed with a bunch of green apples. I'm trying to make apple butter using a very vague recipe from the Foxfire book #3. I don't like alot of spice...any suggestions? Is it suppose to be so thick? I appreciate any tips :)

    Homemade Sauerkraut Mess?

    Thank Ya'll. I'm gonna give it another try. I think I'll get a stone crock (I've wanted one anyway). The room I had it in was very hot and humid so that may have caused it too. I've got several free cabbages and can't stand to waste! So here we go!! :)

    Homemade Sauerkraut Mess?

    I tried to make homemade sauerkraut and made a mess!! I put 5lbs of shredded cabbage in a food grade bucket. Layered cabbage and pickleing salt, then placed a bag of water on top and covered bucket with a clean towel and placed in a warm area in the house. In 5 days the cabbage had turned black...

    TN transplant.....

    Me and my family moved to Cookeville, Tenneesee about 6 months ago and LUV it! We moved from Alabama and the summer so far is a lot less humid. After living all over the place (millitary) we hope to call this our permanent home :).......the gardening is great here.
