Sepsis kills about a million Americans a year.

A doctor in a Norfolk, VA emergency room has come up with an apparent cure: Vitamins C, B and some steroids. All are generic. Total cost for the treatment is about $60.

You’ll never get a formal study done of this. Such studies are insanely expensive and since nobody will make any money of it, the studies simply won’t be done.

But doctors and nurses are beginning to believe it. Besides, the cure is proven safe and is dirt-cheap so trying it is risk-free.

I heard the article on NPR last week it was very interesting. "They" are now talking about double blind studies (the proverbial they) but like you said doubt it goes anywhere b/c of the money thing. However several Dr.'s now are giving it a try since he went public w/ the info. (according to a follow up report I heard this week)
