First off, Id like to say hello to everyone as this is my first time in this forum and also my first post. I noticed an earlier post this month about Bokashi Composter and it looked liked there was a good response so I thought I would post my question.
Ive recently discovered the idea of a Bokashi Composter and got really excited about the idea of reducing my daily landfill foot print (as I have a very small yard and a traditional composted just wouldnt work) however my husband and I are stumbled on the problem of what we would do in the winter? We live in the northern USA and there will be several months in the year that we will not be able to dig a hole in our backyard. What do people do? We have come up with the idea of using one of those large storage bins in our basement and put the waste in it and cover it will soil similar to how it would be outside. We are worried about the smell of this solution. Our other idea is to have a small bin in our yard that we could collect it over the winter and once we get to the spring dig a large hole. This also seems to have some draw backs when you start thinking about the details.
Any thoughts would be appreciated thanks again knowing we are new.
