Can I dry beans that are already shelled?

Been shelling butter beans for the last three hours.

Can I dry them in a food dehydrator? Any special preparation?

I wish I knew. I asked the question earlier. My beans were already picked. So I couldn't leave them on the vine to dry. I ended up freezing the beans. Will dry my butter beans on the vine.

I threw as many as I could fit on the dehydrator to see what would happen.

I just googled it again and this time I found a site. I googled drying beans and got a extention site that said to dry them on the vine until the beans rattled. If the beans aren't dry enough. Dry them in the sun, oven or dehydrator. I might just try a few in the dehydrator to see what happens.

It's sort of a pain. They fall through the cracks. You have to be very careful about laying them on there. I did a batch, though and they are definitely dried. Now I will have to try rehydrating some to see if they are still edible.
