Hi,
I have a Christmas Cactus that was just last summer rooted off of a 5 year old plant. How long will it be until it blooms?

It should have bloomed already,
Did you drop the temperature on it, do you see buds on it?

Chris

It'll probably bloom next year if you took a good amount of parent plant to start your new one. Mine is just starting to bloom for this season, but it's 5 years old, started from a parent plant who is now almost 20 back home. It didn't bloom the first year or two if I remember right. I did start it from two leaves though. LOL.

Temp drops low enough for ours to start wanting to send out buds during november/dec and they tend to bloom for me late jan/feb.

the temperature has stayed consistent at room temperature. There are no flower buds. Only two large leaves, and 5 runners. It's an Epiphyllum cactus, if that makes a difference.

Ok, I thought you were talking about Schlumbergera (Christmas Cactus, Thanksgiving Cactus, Crab Cactus and Holiday Cactus)
