I dehydrated a lot of okra this summer. This is the first time I dehydrated veggies and I had a lot of fun with it. I learned dehydrated tomatoes make a great snack and so does dehydrated okra. So this afternoon, I didn't feel like cooking. :tongue I had some chicken broth and meat in the freezer, in the pot it went. Then I got out the dehydrated bucket. I dumped in okra, tomatoes and onions. I picked an orange bell pepper in the garden and supper simmered while I did a bunch of nothing. :gig

The soup was yummy! And in case anyone wants to know, re-hydrated de-hydrated okra is NOT all slimy! :drool It was tender and good. :rose

When I saw your post, my first thought was- if only dehydrating it, made it less slimy. And... you say it does! Now that is good news. I might even try my hand at growing it! So nice to have ingredients on hand, when dinner time comes! Enjoy!

Hey Smiles, love your avatar! I tried dehydrating some okra, but didn't like it. Not slimy, just hard/chewy garlic flavored stemmy things. Like what you would surreptitiously spit out in your napkin at dinner.
