My easter eggers are eating my tomatoes! Worse than that the little bugger are only eating the red ones!!! Anyone have any idea how or if you can stop this short of caging them? Looks like it is time to build a new coop.

The red ones do taste best! Sorry! Can you put temporary fencing around your tomatoes? Good luck!

I stuck tall pieces of 2x2 scrap wood all around each bed and draped the black netting over them and then fastened the bottom of the netting with stakes. It took all of 10 minutes to do 6 beds.

If they are like their Ameraucana cousins, there's no stopping them! Gorgeous, wonderful egg laying, plant killing birds!

As stated, your 2 choices are to:

A ~ Surround the plants.

B ~ Surround the birds.

Couldn't surround plants so I guess they won't be free ranging for a while. Though they don't watch it they might be freezer ranging for a while! I like tomatoe as well or more than I like those birds (right now).
