Trader Joe's had .50 dozen eggs so I bought 6 dozens. I plan on freezing them. I read on line to mix the yolk and egg white and then to put them in a cupcake pan. Basically 1 egg per cup. To defrost, you let the pan sit in warm water for a few seconds and then take them out and put in freezer bags.

Is this how you guys do it? Or is there a better way?

I've read the same way to do it. I once tried freezing them without mixing them up first....ICK. Couldn't be used at all afterwards. Freezing the yolks does something bad to them.

I use the big cube trays meant for storing homemade baby food.
Yes, mix them first then pour into whatever your're going to freeze them in.
Once frozen, dump into Ziploc baggies. Take a few out to thaw in the fridge at a time.

I froze eggs in an ice cube tray. Fine for cooking in a bread or something.. Really odd when scrambled.
