Hi all!!
Happy Earth Day!!
To celebrate, I spent some time in the garden yesterday taking video clips.
Thought I'd share w/ ya!

I also spent time in the garden this morning, planting all kinds of goodness in the pea bed that Alan and I gave a facelift to yesterday. I pulled out the peas, and we added a 2x4 to the top of the raised bed along with 5" of compost! YAY!

Happy Earth Day!! Everything looks gorgeous! I am going to watch that several times this week...whenever it is snowing! I did miss the rooster though...

Poor Shorty..... :(
I was late locking up the chicken house one night last fall -- Shorty stayed in the coop, but on the feed side, not in w/ the hens.
A big raccoon pulled him off his perch and ran off with him.
I was SOOOOOOO sad.....
I am still so sad about it ... totally my fault. :( :( :( :( :(

Oh, I am sorry, I didn't know you had lost him... I have a few birds who refuse to go into the coop- one of these mornings it is going to be bad. Don't blame yourself, nature is cruel sometimes. Enjoy your beautiful gardens!

It always seems to be the favorites.

I did have two other garden roosters this spring ... Rowdy and Colonel Sanders. One of my little roos that I loved sooooo much (Scooter) liked to pick fights with the others. Last week I decided I just needed to I re-home Scooter, and several other boys I wasn't too attached too. But at least the two garden roos got to go back in w/ the hens. Everyone has to get along! :)

That was lovely, Daisy!

I also did some digging in the Earth to celebrate Earth Day :).

I remember green gardens like that . I did notice that something was missing that I now have showing up in my yard - dandelions! I think you should let your father know that he will soon have some of those cheery, yellow blooms on his property north of here. Ask him for a picture, Daisy. There's no reason you should be deprived. I'm sure that your dad will be proud to share!

Thank you for thinking of us on Earth Day and sending us something beautiful!

Very nice Daisy! Everything is so lush. I like the water trough planters especially. :)
Oh those silly things ... that's an experiment. :) I was going to plant spuds in them earlier this year, but time got away from me. Soooo, filled them with soil and an assortment of veggies.
We used to use them in the barn when we had chicks, but the barn became a haven for 'coons, so we stopped keeping chicks in there.
