When your garlic goes to seed do you cut it off to redirect more energy to the bulb ?

I cut off the scapes (seed-looking thing on top) because they're good to eat! Saute them like scallions or something, yum. And i think it would also redirect energy to the garlic bulb as well :)

Yes, in fact I just cut mine off a couple days ago. You want the plants energy to go into bulb making, not seed making....

Thanks. I cut my last night and plan on pickling them.

Indeed, I do the same way too.
