Pretty sure they are too small and bendy.
Can't give away wood here, down n dry or down and cut to 3ft sections, still nothing.
Nothing but lazy shmucks.....
I given up on the number of cherry trees I killed. Do yours produce fruit, do they flower ? I know their leaves are bad for horses. Cherry and dogwood are 2 trees I love but cant grow
Those look like wild cherries. I assume you know that the wilted leaves are poisonous to certain grazing animals. The wilting causes the poison to concentrate. I know horses can have problems, other animals possibly can. So be careful if they have leaves. I'm not sure how poisonous limbs or bark are.
If I were girdling them I'd use an ax or maybe a hatchet. Remove a strip of bark all the way around so nutrients can't get to the area above. Another option is to use a chain saw and take the whole thing down. In either case you will probably get some suckers, below the girdling, from the stump, or maybe from roots in the area. I don't think wild cherry is as bad about suckering as many other trees but expect some.
Cut them to the ground as close as you can. Then cover with multiple layers of black plastic and weigh down with rocks. The plastic must be able to withstand a few winters. And yes they will sucker like crazy otherwise.
Some are grown to barbwire, metal posts or woven fencing.
I've taken pics of them flowering, but IDK where they are now.
I probably have many more along the other fences....One by the house, never an issue with the animals, but supposedly alpaca are far more sensitive to poisonous plants. =/
Here's some bad pics of them in general from 2016.
Weedeater
Circle them hitting just enough to knock the bark off
..have killed too many trees to count by clearing the grass away from their base so I can enjoy how pretty they are......
