Great idea for squash bugs

I was reading through some blogs today and found a fantastic idea to get squash bug eggs off of the leaves. Duct tape!! Here's the link.

Great idea, I have been tearing of a bit of leaf as I have not been real good at squashing them on the leaves, or having them rolla way from me (to hatch elsewhere!) while trying to scrap them off.

Do you have to collect the eggs or is taking them off and dropping them enough?

I remove them entirely. I don't know if they can hatch on the ground and still find the plants, but I'm not willing to risk it.

They are bad this year. Almost too many to get..Sad

I havent seen squash bugs on mine yet, but I have other weird creatures are on my plants, Im gonna buy a big roll of duck tape and give it a try!, But I have been smashing them with my fingers anyway...

How about using a rechargeable vacuum? Not too powerful, but enough to suck up a few bugs.

Fantastic idea!! You could even use the colored duct tape to make bug harvesting more festive!!

It works really well on both the eggs and the nymphs.
