You are SOOO bad!!! I received your package today. What a wonderful surprise for staring at the computer half the night to win your contest....lol. I have a question about the oregano - plunk it in some water to get it to root or dip it in honey and stuff it in some dirt? Are there 2 different varieties? It looks there is. And I just HAD to take a BIG whiff of the garlic chives - GOOD GOSH I wasn't expecting that! LOL!! I mean good but a bit on the stronger side of good than I was thinking...lol.

Can I leave the oregano out over winter? Or plant in a container and bring in when it gets cold? What about the garlic chives?

Oh, and THANK YOU not only for the herbs but the little extra prize you included! This I can just plant somewhere in a flowerbed, yes?

I am in your other post freaking out that you mentioned this package LOL

And here is the correct post!

There should be two pieces of Cuban Oregano. This is a frost tender perennial and will take over during the warmer season. I prefer to grow it in a container to contain it. One piece was rooted already. The other piece just stick it in a vase with water and in less than 3 days you will have roots.

Grow this in a kitchen setting and clip from it as you need it. I use it fresh rather than dried. I have used this in my spaghetti sauces and it works well. I like it.. It roots well and fast.

Plant your Garlic chives in several clumps. Like maybe 10-15 bulbs to one spot.... do this at the corners of a flower bed or garden. They display nicely when they bloom and can fit in the flower beds.

Do not separate the little clumps of real Chives, that should be two plantings since they are only this years growth. Next year they will get bigger. Regular Chive are small so can be overtaken by other things; so a pot is nice for them too.

Your Marjoram seeds just sprinkle in a pot ...one larger pot, all the seeds. They will make a nice aromatic shrub for you!

The Zephyr Lilies are fun. I started with only two bulbs and have given many away over the years. I think I included 3-4 bulbs. Plant these together like a clump. They will grow long grass-like leaves which are dark and thickened like a succulent. The blooms only show before a rain (they are a Rain Lily). Over the years the clump will get thicker and thicker and then you can start to split them up and spread them around. They should go right into the ground now and forgotten. Maybe near the edge of a path or in front of a garden so you notice them when they bloom.

OK, wow, I am so happy these arrived. In the other post I was asking what condition the box was in. I see they got that to you with no delay at all. Amazing how garlic can motivate you!

Here is the picture of my Cuban Oregano. This started as a piece the size you have now, last winter.

I will have to cut pieces for in the house and the rest will either be dried for harvesting or the entire plant will be donated to anyone (nearby) with a greenhouse; otherwise it will freeze.

I guess you really cannot see the pot, it is about a 5 gallon pot.
