I'm in the process of making an herb garden in old drain tiles I have a bunch of square and round tiles and I would like to put a flower in with the herbs here and there to add some color. Has anyone out there tried this, and what flowers are good with herbs?

I have mixed a few herbs in with my flowers. I like the soft color of sage- it looks really nice mixed in with pansy's or johnny jump ups. I added some mint in a container with pink petunias- made a nice background. I also love to plant nasturium mixed with anything. It is such a pretty plant- and the flowers are edible. They would be a nice mix with herbs for sure...I would think any annual that you like, would work fine, you just don't want to plant something too vigorous that will crowd out your herbs. This is what I love about gardening- how wrong can you be? Even mistakes are beautiful! Now you have me thinking about tarragon and basil- I can't wait! Enjoy!
