was wondering how accurate this thing is, and worth buying
they say it does this..
"Quickly Test for pH and N-P-K with this Electronic Soil Test Meter. Flip the switch of this meter to pH or Fertilizer Analysis, and thrust the meter into the soil, indoors or out, for quick reading. Measures pH on a zero to 9 range, and the relative levels of Nitrogen, Phosphorus and Potash (ppm) in the soil."

I never have used one, though I've considered picking one up now and then.
I remember one of the instructors in the master gardener program relating that the home gardener models are not accurate and generally a waste of time. You really need a lab quality one to give a precise reading.

This may be informative.

Don’t waste your $$$$. Have a pH meter. Doesn’t work.

To do N P K, soil test. There are liquid pH testers. Bought one, haven’t used yet. Mix 1/2 soil and 1/2 distilled water. Whatever pH is, is soil pH. They are used in aquariums to test for pH.
