I need more seating in my waiting room, it is a small room. Many clients let their dogs up on the seating. It must hold up to dog nails, and easy to clean any stains. I found 2 benches on CL 1st is antique with a padded seat, seat looks simple enough to change myself. 2nd bench used furniture maybe 20 years old, nothing for dogs to damage. I like antique better but think 2nd hold up better both cheap. upload_2017-7-27_10-34-34.png upload_2017-7-27_10-35-19.png

I think you should get the antique one for your house. The second one might be cool if painted in some funky color.
But they both look pretty flimsy to me.

I am with So Lucky... they both looks a bit flimsy. :hide
That said, I like them both too! The Antique is YOU !!!!
The 2nd might be a bit sturdier and no upholstery for dog nails to scratch or tear. (Get Both)

Is the first one wood or metal? If metal it would be far stronger of the two.

@Nyboy and @Smart Red I think the 1st settee is probably mahogany and of the Duncan Phyfe style/period. Shield and lyre motifs where often featured on chair backs.

Very good Carol would have been done in a silk fabric. Way to delicate maybe what they use on car seats.
