A close relative to Thai Basil (which it is sometimes mistakenly sold as), it likes full sun. Like most herbs regular soil and not too much fertilizer. Keep it well watered but not soaked. It grows pretty tall and we've had to stake most of our plants.
It has tons of uses. Chewing the leaves can soothe your throat and helps relieve symptoms of cold and flu. It is also known as Tulsi, it's a native to India and has a really cool story and great sacred significance there.
