NY, you got a good place for keeping ducks? An open water feature of some kind where they can be without getting eaten by the local wildlife?

Glad I could help Alex :celebrate, I hatched the three I had under a banty hen, lucked out, 1 drake, 2 hens they did fly across the road to the river for part of the day but were always home for dinner and they marched right into their pen at night. If I was to get ducks again this is the breed I'd get, they are down right gorgeous. If penned all the time get them a kiddies wading pool , they'll love it. Remember, we want pictures:).

Wow, those are brilliant! Such a striking color.

We had ducks once. Briefly. Probably for only minutes, and we didn't find out until after the fact.
We rented a little cabin next to a pond a hundred years ago or so. Our young landlords lived in the ranch house a quarter mile away. They thought they'd surprise us with some ducks picturesquely paddling about.
We weren't home when they installed them in the pond.
But our Alaskan Malamute was.

We came home and found a single duck foot lying in the yard.
Hmmm, that's weird, we thought.

Our landlords were upset that their ducks had become a doggy bag treat.

I swear that Mal smiled for days at their generosity.

Are these to be pets? You're getting a pair - plan on letting them hatch ducklets? :D
How much room does a pair of ducks need to be happy?
At the 'city house' or the 'country house'?
