Indoor plantings

I once did that to a lily bulb. Simply peeled off each and every 'scale' and planted them. By three years, I had plenty of lovely yellow lilies where the one had been.

I agree on the amaryllis bulb. I probably wouldn't want to cut mine up either. Nice flower!

A new one bloomed today. I have never seen asymmetrical coloring before.
 
Keep it fertilized, put it outside for the summer, let it die back in the fall, and enjoy it again next year. WFF is expensive but you get more than your money's worth with their Amaryllis. Yours was an amazing result!!!!
