I once did that to a lily bulb. Simply peeled off each and every 'scale' and planted them. By three years, I had plenty of lovely yellow lilies where the one had been.

I agree on the amaryllis bulb. I probably wouldn't want to cut mine up either. Nice flower!

I was given Amarylits for Christmas (came from white flower farm). It had 4 flower stocks, with 6 flowers on each. Amazing

Keep it fertilized, put it outside for the summer, let it die back in the fall, and enjoy it again next year. WFF is expensive but you get more than your money's worth with their Amaryllis. Yours was an amazing result!!!!

Cat, that amaryillis is gorgeous! I love how the bouganvilla and amaryllis are color coordinated.
