Look at this little meadow of kamas flowers! Did you know you can eat the root and if cooked right it will taste kinda like a potato!

Lovely :)

I grew them from seed one year. Planet Natural has/had Camassia seed.

Despite growing in the wild in some locations around here, they only showed up with their very pretty flowers for a few seasons.

In the FB group about OR Native Plants, there was a HUGE effort to remove Camas flowers from a very large development going in, before the tractors plowed everything up. I was too far away to get some.
