Last night I started a jar of banana water. How many banana skins to quart jar of water? Should lid be on jar ? How long till water ready?

1 banana skinon the quart jar. I close the lid, but the water is not fully topped up. Potion starts to wander. 3-4 days is enough. When you open a bottle, potion like sparkling wine.

is water suppose to turn brown ?

Banana peel gives the water its color. It is not brown, but becomes slightly cloudy and slightly yellow.

Depends how ripe the banana is... when the banana is really ripe so the skin is just turning with brown spots, it is at it's prime ...
