Ok, so I know lavender can be dried and added to sachets, and potpurri and stuff, but does anyone know how to tranfuse the lavender scent into a liquid form?? I make my own detergent and fabric softner, and would like to use my lavender to scent it. Any ideas??

I know you can add a little lavendar oil to the final rinse, but to make it easier could you just grind the petals up real good and let it sit in the liquid?
Otherwise you will have to make the lavendar oil, there are alot of recipes online, but since you make your own soap and you have the lavendar, it might be easier and cheaper to improvise. I would try it in a small amount and see how you like it.I am not sure it will give it a scent or just wash out. I am sure thats why they recommend you add the oil to the rinse cycle.
You could make lavendar water in a spray bottle and just spray it on the clothes before you dry them.
I am just throwing out ideas here, maybe someone will know the answer.
Sounds like a good idea, I grow lavendar too and just started making my own detergent as well.
What do you do for the fabric softener?
