Garden Ornament
I have a good crop of Mayapples this year but have never harvested them before. Is it best to wait for a frost, do I need to beat the squirrels to them? If I pick greenish will they ripen? Are they even worth the effort?

Here's a link on harvesting mayapples. I have lots of plants, but no fruit, I guess the critters got them first.
