The local TV and radio stations in SW Washington / NW Oregon are now reporting that the latest snow storm is now named "Mia " . This naming stunt is to increase the weather news ratings. 
The weather people are forecasting that the first wave will arrive here about 7 PM, then come in waves until Tues. with a total of FOURTEEN INCHES OF SNOW. 
Heaven help us as we are DOOMED. 
The news channels have their reporters go to the hardware / big box stores to tell us that most of the snow shovels are sold out and bagged salt stock piles are low. Groceries , cookies, cokes, and booze are flying off the shelves and those shoppers saying that they are stocking up for the next 2 weeks. 
The news reporters are also interviewing the snow plow drivers as to say what they are doing to prepare for this weather event. 
What they are not saying is that the snow is NOT the issue, but the black ice under the snow is the real culprit in traffic accidents.
