My hydrangea bush wilts in the heat of the afternoon.

I have another large bed at the end of my property but it didn't look very good this past summer. The soil is very sandy (if you can believe it) and it takes alot of water. I'm going to amend the soil this spring.

Very nice! Your Hydrangea is absolutely beautiful ! That purple vine thing in the 3rd pic (Can't remember the name right now)...a very grateful little vine, I finally found some of it again for sale at a greenhouse, so now I break off pieces of it and stuff them in every pot I have , so I'll never "loose" it again. lol . Is it a perennial down there?

Thanks! The common name is Purple Heart or Purple Queen. Yes, it is a perennial here. The first hard frost will turn the stems brown and I cut the whole plant back and it comes back in the spring. It used to be a lot bigger than that but my chickens love the pink flowers.
