My horses favorite pastime is rolling in the mud first thing in the morning. No matter how cold. My grandson and I will brush and preen him, make his tail and mane shine....for a moment or 2. Today I brought him out of the barn, he circled like dog looking for the perfect spot, and then enjoyed the snow. Hw ran like a race horse today. Rascal in snow 1.jpg

Nothing like a refreshing roll in cold fresh snow!
Good pics, and what a beautiful bluebird day to capture your horse having fun!

I blanket him since he has been alone. It was also in single digits. He is outdoors all night unless it gets real cold. With a companion they wind block for each other. He has a big thick coat but since my mare died I must say I have been babying him. The coat is really for me. Even in the cold I keep him out late so he is not just standing in the barn too many hours in a row. They are worse horse babying owners than I.

Great pics, catjac; I'll wager he likes his roll-in-the-snow....
