I've been put in charge of the plants for our bank...but I have no idea what they are?

Hi there - the first picture is an umbrella plant and the last is a dracaena. don't know the names of the middle two, but know the plants (if you know what I mean). You should have no great trouble with any of them in terms of care - just water when the soil needs it and they will probably live. I've certainly been mistreating the two I can name for many years and they are very robust!

I'll give it a wild shot, hopefully somebody with more house plant knowledge can correct me.

1. Schefflera , variegated
2.Corn plant ( a type of dracaena )
3. ? some kind of philodendron
4. Dragon Tree ( another type of dracaena )

You won't need to study up on those plants! My office is full of fine examples of most of them- and they thrive on neglect. A little water, some sunshine- they are good to go!

Yes, I agree with Lesa - I have the Schefflera and the corn plant in my office and they do thrive on neglect. they do well under the flourescent lights and little water.

Since they are ALL tropical plants, they live on lots of water, filtered/full sunshine and thin, poor soil. The soil in the tropics only grows things bc there are constant plant and animal bodies that decompose to feed them. In fact, that is why deforesting for crops doesn't do well there. The soil nevers gets a chance to rest, like it does in tropical zones in the winter.

#3 is Dumb Cane,
Botanical Name: Dieffenbachia
