After all the raving I hear about San Marzano's I decided to plant one. They were all together and I decided to pick the biggest, healthiest plant. Of course it didn't have a tag. Feeling confident, I decided to get it. For weeks I'm excited and check on it frequently. Finally a tomatoe is ripe and I pick and cut it. That's when I noticed that it's NOT a San Marzano! It looks kind of like a black krim, I should have know better. After all, I've seen plenty pictures of a San Marzano. Why didn't I notice that sooner?

@digitS', that is why I rely more on my handy-dandy notebook than on row markers. I have a visual of where everything has been planted for the past 5 years. Of course, if I lose the book I'm in the same boat as if I only used the row markers (forks).

Yesterday I put the notebook up in a safe place while I worked in the garden. So safe I forgot where I left it. This morning I found it out in the rain on the ground. Not my best plan. Luckily, it seems to be readable and almost dried out.
