Pardon my previous vent...

Vfem..I've been thinking about how you are doing. It looks like you are finally going in the right direction and coming up with answers. Glad you changed Drs. It took me 10 years to change to mine! She was female and close to home so I stuck with her. Luckly, I only went to her for physicals.

Hope you start feeling better soon. Remember..even if our gardens fail or we don't have time for them this year, there is always next year. :)

. . . Next week I am going to a dermatologist as we think all this has happened because I do have an autoimmune disease by the obvious pseriosis I have. They want to me to try some new drugs for that, as they think most of these infections are getting into my system through the damaged skin. Time to nip this in the bud! . . .
The only thing that helped me with psoriasis on my hands is a steroid cream. After using it for nearly 10 years, daily . . . only on the problem areas . . . my MD decided that I should be off it and using the cream without the steroid. For months I've battled the rashes with very limited success - splits in the skin continuously. I will go back to this guy soon and look him straight in the eye and tell him this flat is not working!

I hate to be dependent on steroids but someone will have to come up with an alternative to nothing.

I recently took another in the long-term steps down in mobility/pain, also. Illnesses don't seem all that fair and when it is one's own body beating itself up because of some out-of-whack immune response, it's hard to fix blame . . .

Try to find and enjoy the better and most important things in life, V.

I don't want to advertise snake oil- but the calendula ointments seem to have amazing results with psoriasis. "Calendula" posted some great recipes over on SS, if anyone is interested. Wishing good health to you both!

My aunt has psoriasis as well. One thing that really helped was only using beauty products that were clear. It did not cure her but it really seemed to help her. I hope you finally get all the answers you need.

I'm actually feeling pretty good today, tired after picking figs all morning... but still feeling good.

I've been trying everything on my skin for years... I try not to push my luck. I used to do the tanning salons for daily UV treatments, I did coal tar creams and ecurin cream is what I use now. The doctor insists we try the new drugs since they help with the immune system as well as the skin, but we'll see what a dermatoligist says.

For now, I'm going to nap and recoop some more.... hopefully this time next week I'll have some strength back!!! :D

It is so good to hear you are starting to feel somewhat better :D You are right to keep pushing for answers and finding a physician that actually cares! Hang in there. Hugs... :hugs

Glad to hear your taking steps to get answers and I'm very glad to hear your feeling better. Thank you for keeping us posted I've been wondering how your doing.
