My dwarf nectarine and peach trees got leaf curl this spring. I was told to spray with copper in November.

I have a bottle of Ortho Dormant Disease Control Lime-Sulfur Spray. It says it controls Powdery Mildews and Peach Leaf Curl. The active ingredient is calcium polysulfides 26% and inert ingredients 74%.

Is this different than copper? Would it be as effective as copper? I'd like to use it since I already have it but want to use the best thing out there. Please advise.

I did a little reading up and apparently lime/sulfur products as well as the higher dosage copper products have been removed from home owner use.

One article suggested the lime sulfur in late fall, and then a copper product in late winter. Since you have the lime sulfur spray, that would be my plan of attack if it was my tree.

Here's a link to an article about a test somebody at the UC Master Gardener Program did comparing different products.

Here's more about the discontinued products.
