Peas are coming...plenty to preserve... HELP

It looks like if we can beat the japanese beeltes to the peas
(Then green beans) there will be plenty to preserve. Any advice would be much appreciated.
Do I need to blanche them before freeezing?
Zip lock bags or plastic containers?
Tips please. Thank YoU.

When I freeze my green beans I just freeze them in Ziploc bags maybe with the air sealed out. No need to blanch them first.

I found my green beans inedible- both with and without blanching. Thus, I bought a pressure canner. I never have enough peas to preserve. I am lucky if they get upstairs to the dinner table- a good portion are eaten right outside!!

YES we do love them fresh. :) Grandson now wanders the garden and helps (eat.) while we pick. :)
I feel the same way about green beans but there will be too many to eat fresh (Unless I give away tons.) Always plenty of takers. ;) I Might have to can some this year. Wish me luck.

I've tried pressure canning and they were just mush. Freezing gives you much better quality.

After "tray freezing" them, I vacuum pack all but a few, which I put in a zip lock type bag. You can measure out how many you need from the zip lock bag. Whe you need more, open a vacuum bag and put whatever is left in a zip lock bag.

By tray freezing, I mean I rinse them, blanch them, then drain them. Instead of cookie trays, I use deeper baking pans and line them with wax paper. Every couple of hours after I put them in the freezer, I stir them up (Waxed paper helps with that to keep them from sticking to the pan). After they are frozen, I put them into permanent storage. You can measure out however many you need.
