Does anyone have a picture of the full plant Columbine? When I google I only get the actual flower

I would like to know what they look like from "far off". I get the idea they are more of a stemmy plant with a tiny little flower at the top....

My columbines are just a mound of rather abused looking foliage right now. Still, the leaves have an interesting shape.

I planted just columbines along the northside of my home one year. That house had this narrow strip between the house and a concrete driveway. It had the additional issue of a large stone chimney right in the middle of it, as well.

When all those columbines bloomed in the following year, it was a fairyland!

Don't sell them short. Altho' yes, you have to be within 50 feet of columbines to see them dance in a breeze. And, you better get a little closer for the miniatures.

Steve

Here is a blue variety. Columbines grow wild in the Rockies.

I am sooooooooooooooo glad you brought this up. Last spring I planted some columbine seeds someone gave me. Completely unlabeled as to the color, or type.

So this year the mounds have gotten large, and I should get my first flowers. The foliage on mine are a stunning silvery green, but I can't wait for the flowers.... just to know what color I got, its exciting. I'm still waiting on the unlabeled Iris's to show me their first colors for the planting I did last year as well!

i will get you a photo of the mound of foliage if you would like?

Here are three plants from last year. Hope you get an idea of the foliage. They come in a variety of pinks and purples. Very pretty.
