I have been wanting an ameracauna but no one wanted to sell just one.

But I found this sweet one that other hens had turned on her. She was the color I wanted and right age at 1.5 years old.

I knew it was going to be hard to integrate her but knew that I had patience and time. Kept her separated with netting for a week. Then she was able to be with the others by staying on the ladder, hen house, and coop roosting bar. I also put pin less peepers on the others after a while. I or my husband go several times to the coop and stay there while she eats, drinks, and dust bathes. I’m on guard and as soon as she sees me with my stick she comes down and knows she is safe because the others will get the stick haha. She is doing very well and has resumed her laying by giving me blue eggs! That’s what I was hoping for.

Please help me find a name for her. She is very sweet and timid.

I made the mistake of naming the last ones something other than descriptive terms like "Greedy Chicken" or "Number 1." So, "Shy" or "Ameracauna."

My naming idea was actresses' names. Maybe, "I want to be alone, Greta Garbo."

You got her right here at the 4th of July - maybe a name that reflects that?
