Anybody have a good recipe for roasting pumpkin seeds? One of the ones I found online says to boil the seeds first??? I am going to give most of the seeds to the chickens, but I thought I might roast a few. Thanks!
I've never tried boiling them. I will have to sometime. Probably better to distribute the salt...I must have salt!
I rinse my seeds (butternut squash seeds are good too), removing the stringy stuff and pat them dry with a papertowel. I dump them on the cookie sheet and drizzle just enough melted butter on them to coat them, then salt to taste. Stir them around and spread them out in a single layer and toast in a 325 degree oven until they start to brown or you hear them begin to pop. I stir once or twice during the baking.
I guess from reading the other recipes that no matter how you cook them, as long as you don't burn them, you can't mess them up!
