Red Skelton~Pledge of Allegience

    Neat! He was also an exceptional comedian. Never a dirty word or suggestion.

    I did much the same with my students each year. We discussed one word each day until the students could write the Pledge in synonyms.

    I also had my students recite the pledge daily -- the only class in the school to do so for years. Then, once the whole school did it via the intercom, only my students (past and present) said it correctly. There is no comma nor pause between the words "One nation under God"

    We learned one American song each month since the music teachers never covered them in class.

    I thought it my duty as an educator to show pride in my country and pass it on.
