I picked these melons last night just before dark. The cantaloupe picked itself, it was loose from the vine when I picked it up, hope it is not overipe. The canary melons are from seeds I saved from a store bought melon, I have no idea how to tell if they are ripe or not. Anyone know how to tell if they are ready to eat?

Don't know about the canary melon, Collector. Pleased to know that it ripened (or, came close :)).

I've grown a few Asian melons. They ripened! However, Asian melons aren't very sweet - at least, not the varieties I tried. I was a little disappointed.

Can you tell us the variety of cantaloupe :p?

It is a Hales Best Cantaloupe. Like last year there is only that has any size to it. Not sure of the canary melon variety, what ever kind Albertsons sells lol. Gonna cut the open tonight to see if they are ripe!
