Saddest of Days at Glenn Cottage Eggery

Oh, that is very sad. I'd feel terrible too if that happened to me. My chickens are not really pets, they are farm animals, but I still hate it when one dies.

If you are ever passing through my part of the state, I usually have a bunch of chicks, and I'd be happy to send you home with a box full. =)

That is ever so kind of you!! My baby sister lives in Kingman. Sadly I have yet to go up there to see her new house! We seldom get out ot town!

I am thinking of getting some new chicks.. but I have to do some thinking on where to put them until they are big enough to attempt "introducing" them to Roxanne and Rosalind.

Hahaha I know the feeling of never being able to get out, with the animals to take care of, I'm lucky to get away on Saturdays to attend services, and then I still have to milk, feed, and water in the dark when I get home! And forget leaving town for more than a few hours!

I understand completely how you feel. A neighbor's dog killed 3 of my 6 ladies while I was posting on this computer a month ago. We had their tractor where we could look out the kitchen window to check on them but I still feel if I hadn't been on the computer so long I would have seen the dog. I have never been so enraged in all of my life as when I saw the violence and carnage of my pets. When we raise them from 3 day old chicks we are bound to treat them as pets.
