So far I have planted and then replanted 3 times. Not one of them has so much as grown a leaf. I planted the first one in 2007, it's replacement in the spring of 2008, and the second replacement in December, 2008. Nada. At the same time I planted that first Shiro, I also planted a Santa Rosa and it bore last year and has fruit this year. When I planted the second Shiro, I also planted a Stark Delicious. It leafed out last year and this year has blooms. But the Shiros have all just died without so much as a single leaf.

BTW, they all came from Stark.

So has anyone had any luck planting this variety? They are on the list from Alabama's extension service. I just cannot figure out if it is something I did/am doing, or if it is the variety, or what.

Any insight/advice greatly appreciated.
