There is a first for everything!

I wonder how these tomatoes, fruit blossoms and citrus will fare?

Purely an opinion. I don't KNOW for sure.

I'd think that tomato could be in real trouble.

For the fruit blossoms, I think it depends on how cold it really gets and how long it stays cold. I don't think a light quick freeze is that bad, but a hard or long freeze will seriously impact the crop.

With the citrus, I'd consider processing the fruit.

You can try pouring water over it. Not hot or very warm water, just enough to melt that frozen stuff. When that stuff thaws, it will suck a lot of heat out of the vegetation.

Good luck with it but I agree, that is not good.

It should be thawing out here soon, I don't have high hopes for the tomatoes, but there are only 5 in the ground with back-up in the hoop-house and garage window.

The fruit is ready for processing anyway, so thats OK I guess.

My main concern is the fruit tree blossoms at this point.

Ridgerunner, I was going to spray down the trees but the hose is frozen...

But the sun is out now, it should thaw out pretty quickly.

WOW! I know we had snow in the mountains but I didn't know it came at as low an elevation as Ramona.
