I have a south facing courtyard. gets full sun. I am thinking of finding a 'container' about 4' across widest point and deep enough for grass roots to do well & have it sit where I can put my feet on cool grass when sitting out there in the evening. i can't get the particulars figured out in my head ye,t but this is all the "lawn" i would have and i do love st. Augustine grass.

I just finished sodding my entire backyard in San Augustine. The back yard suffered from too much shade, (the tree died and we took it out) drought, and big dogs digging up what was left. Then I turned the hens out and they hunted down the few blades that escaped the dogs. The backyard was a dirt pit with Bahia and pesky weeds. I pulled them all up, garbage bags and more bags and more bags........back is sore......

that sounds like a lot of work bay! but a st Augustine lawn is the best thing. I know there are smarter grasses in our drought ridden furnace of a climate - but nothing as pretty
